I just got myself this Canon 24mm 2.8 lens and I am enjoying it. This lens is simply a sharp lens. It gives very detailed images with good sharpness and contrast. I think the contrast on this lens will rival even the Canon L lenses. I tested this lens with both my Canon EOS 40D and Canon EOS 5D DSLR camera and I am happy with the results. The lens is simply good when combined with either full frame or cropped sensor DSLR camera. The only downside on this lens would be the inconsistent exposure. I use this lens with the matrix metering and I got somewhat inconsistent results from this lens. Whenever this lens is presented with high contrast situation such as bright background and dark foreground, it has a tendency to overexpose. I think Canon would need to update the firmware on this lens to fix this issue.
